The IPA Council welcomes Patrick Nelson as the new delegate for Hawaii. Patrick will be taking over from Tony Bayaoa. We would like to take this oppportuntiy to thank Tony for serving as the Hawaii Delegate and wish her well with her future endeavors.
Patrick “Patio” Nelson, along with his wife Alicia, son Keola Kai, and two daughters Anahuea Bae and Axel Lee, own and operate Protea MyLife LLC which is located on the slopes of Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii in the Northern Hemisphere.
The farm was conceived on January 16, 1987 and expanded by Patio & Alicia out of mutual love for the Protea industry and action plans for the future. In addition to the hundred varieties of Proteas, they also cultivate foliage, exclusively the eucalyptus and wax flower. Their selection continues to grow!
Patrick’s mission is dedicated to the Hawaii Protea industry and the future of the islands’ hybrids. The focus is on superior plant quality and making rapid strides with local and Hawaiian state support while increasing relationships with the researchers and the extraordinary local Protea Farmers with respect.
Patrick, who is fun and focused, is a quick read and highly motivated to represent the state of Hawaii.
