WildFlowers Australia is again hosting this landmark event, held only every 3 years, this time on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Beyond Conference activities, there is much to do there – pristine swimming beaches, beautiful snorkelling, national parks and more!
The speaker program on August 14 includes something for everyone. Big picture issues that represent both challenges and opportunities for our industry kick start the presentations, from discussions of what farms of the future will look like, to managing biosecurity, to what florists need from growers to support true sustainability. Speakers Digby Growns and Adrian Parsons will highlight the exciting opportunities the latest innovative breeding programs offer growers and florists alike.
Growers will learn the latest about managing the fundamentals on their farm: Soil, Water, Pests & Diseases along with using wicking beds to conserve water. Find out how industry can improve its environmental footprint by reducing use of pesticides and plastics.
A panel of industry experts will share their experience in propagating, grafting and selecting plants from the Proteaceae and related genera of native Australian and South African plants.
Last but not least, industry leaders will share their perspectives on the current state of the wildflower market and where it may be heading in the future.
Day 2 of the conference takes delegates on a tour of working farms located in the scenic Glasshouse Mountains.
